India has allowed the export of corn and non-basmati rice seeds, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) of the commerce ministry said.

Earlier, India had banned the shipments of these commodities in a bid to tame spiraling inflation.

“Export packets will be labelled saying that seeds are treated with chemical insecticides and cannot be used for food or feed purposes,” the commerce ministry arm said.
