Spanish retail sales fell 9.8% on the year in calendar-adjusted terms in June, providing further evidence of a sharp slowdown in Spanish consumption.

Adjusted retail sales fell 5.3% in May and 3.4% in April.

According to data released Wednesday by Spain’s National Statistics Institute, or INE, in June sales of household goods fell 17.9%, while sales of personal goods fell 5.6% on the year.
