Malaysia’s manufacturing sales in May rose 14.8 percent from a year earlier, driven by higher demand for refined petroleum products and iron and steel products, the government said on Friday.

Sales totalled 48.7 billion ringgit ($15.08 billion) in May, and grew 1.7 percent from April on a seasonally unadjusted basis.

Malaysia does not provide seasonally adjusted data for the change between months. The sales data shows the value of goods sold by manufacturers to retailers and wholesale firms.
