China’s trade surplus stood at 99.03 bln usd in the first half of 2008, down 11.8 pct year-on-year, the official Xinhua news agency reported, citing data from the General Administration of Customs.

The trade surplus in June stood at 21.35 bln usd, down 20.6 pct year-on-year, against 20.21 bln usd in May and 16.68 bln in April, Xinhua said.

Exports in the first half rose 21.9 pct year-on-year to 666.6 bln usd, with 121.53 bln usd recorded in June, up 17.6 pct year-on-year, it added.

Xinhua did not give details for imports.
